Renowned singer Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch (QB) was injured in a rare brown bear attack at Deosai National Park, near the Bara Pani area — a well-known tourist spot famous for its scenic beauty.

According to reports, QB and her team were camping when a brown bear suddenly entered the site and attacked. The singer suffered serious injuries to her arms during the incident. She was given first aid on the spot before being taken to the DHQ Hospital in Skardu for emergency treatment. After a medical check-up, doctors confirmed her injuries were not life-threatening, and she has since been discharged in stable condition.

Deosai National Park is a protected reserve and home to the endangered Himalayan brown bear. Following the attack, park authorities once again urged visitors to strictly follow safety measures, which include:

  • Avoid traveling on foot during dawn, dusk, and night when bears are most active.
  • Making noise while moving to prevent startling wildlife.
  • Storing and disposing of food properly to avoid attracting animals.
  • Camping only in designated safe zones.

Deosai, one of the world’s highest plateaus, plays a vital role in conserving the Himalayan brown bear population. While bear encounters remain rare, the incident highlights the importance of caution and respect for the wild environment when visiting such areas.
