The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has decided to shift all office work to a paperless digital system, replacing the manual handling of records and correspondence.
The transition will be carried out with the assistance of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) through its e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS). The system will allow routine functions such as file tracking, correspondence, and record management to be performed electronically.
While most processes will go online, the issuance of certificates to students will continue through the manual system. To ensure security, each branch has been directed to safeguard its login credentials, update passwords regularly, and avoid sharing access with unauthorized individuals.
Officials noted that the shift to a digital framework will create a more transparent system, allowing records to be easily traced and verified. Digital filing is also expected to reduce delays caused by paperwork and minimize the risk of lost or tampered files.
Similar systems have already been introduced in the Civil Secretariat and other departments, where digitization has improved record-keeping and reduced dependency on physical files.
