KP Education Department Makes Teaching License Mandatory

In a new policy move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has declared that a valid teaching license will now be mandatory for all teachers in the province. To implement this system, the department will establish a regulatory authority for Rs200 million.

According to official documents, the Elementary and Secondary Education Department has decided to issue licenses to teachers, ensuring that no one can teach in KP without proper authorization.

Only registered and licensed teachers will be permitted to teach under the new framework. The regulatory body will set the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the licensing system and grant licenses to teachers who meet the required standards. Renewal of licenses will be linked to performance evaluation.
