The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved several major road rehabilitation and improvement schemes across Punjab with an estimated cost of billions of rupees.
The approvals came during the PDWP’s 26th meeting held on Monday, chaired by Planning and Development Board Punjab Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf. Out of the ten projects cleared, a significant portion was allocated to road infrastructure.
Among the approved schemes is the rehabilitation and improvement of the 36-kilometer road from Lakisan Pul at KM No. 130 of Lahore-Sargodha Road to Lillian via Jhilla Makhdoom, Ghaus Muhammadwala, Miana Khu, Mateela, and Chak 67/SB in Sargodha district, at an estimated cost of Rs. 934.2 million.
Another major project includes the widening and improvement of the 69-kilometer road from Sargodha (Kuthery Phattak) to Jhamra via Shaheenabad, Silanwali, Sobhaga, and Shahnikdar. This project, part of Phase I, will be executed for Rs. 1.667 billion.
Additionally, the rehabilitation of the road from Chak 59/Janubi Railway Phattak to Sillanwall Mor in Sargodha district will be carried out for Rs. 875.9 million.
In Faisalabad, the widening and improvement of the road from Samundari-Rajana Road at Khiderwala to Chak 242/GB at Khiderwala-Gojra Road will be completed for Rs. 1.071 billion.
Lahore district will also benefit, as the reconstruction of the 47-kilometer metalled road from Ichogil to Ghawindi-Barki Junction (Phase I) has been approved for Rs. 1 billion.
I don’t know why CM Punjab n LDA authority are not considering to construct Bedian Road Lahore expansion to 6 lanes project.
This is very sad, daily accidents n traffic mess are not less than havoc.
Why projects only towards other side of Lahore only.

What about the motorway RawalPindi-Gujrat-Sailkot motorway still nothing has been done
What about Gujrat city ? Since decades not even an inch of work has been done there. Please carpet the roads there instead of wasting the funds.
Imagine the number of people that can be educated with that amount of money. What’s the point of a modern Pakistan when people are still uneducated. They should really think hard where money is mostly needed. These are all superficial improvements – when the whole of Pakistan is educated – that’s progress worth mentioning.
What about rehabilitation of roads in Distt Chakwal
I think Punjab Govt have to start SL4 of ring road as well
With the recent floods a lot of infrastructure of Punjab is damage.
So,it’s need more funds to invest in it.
Very good action plan , shaheenabad till jhamra was very necessary, also 59 chak to sillanwali mor was so broken , specially thanks for pul lucksian and jalla makhdoom road , all will be taken as special thanks to govt .
