AIOU Announces Big Relief for Flood-Affected Students

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has approved a relief package worth Rs. 120 million to support students in flood-affected areas, enabling them to continue their education despite financial challenges.

Under the initiative, the university has fully waived the current semester fees for matriculation and intermediate students who have not yet submitted their payments. Students enrolled in graduation and associate degree programs will receive a 50 percent fee concession.

The measures apply to the Autumn 2025 semester. In addition, the admission deadline has been extended until September 15 to provide students in flood-hit areas more time to complete the enrollment process.

According to the university, the relief package is aimed at reducing the financial burden on affected families while ensuring that students are able to pursue their studies without interruption. Officials noted that the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting education and safeguarding the academic future of its students.

The package builds on AIOU’s policy of extending support during times of national crisis and highlights its focus on both education and student welfare.
