The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved a new healthcare initiative to provide free treatment for its employees and their families at leading hospitals in the federal capital.
The decision was finalized in a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Under the plan, CDA staff will gain access to a panel of top hospitals in Islamabad through an upgraded medical insurance system, covering emergency services, OPD, medicines, and lab tests at both CDA Hospital and private facilities.
Officials said the coverage will be enhanced for life-threatening illnesses to ensure complete medical care. It was also decided to include CDA’s Capital Hospital in the State Life Insurance panel so employees of other organizations can also benefit from its services.
Randhawa directed that revenue generated through the scheme should be reinvested to upgrade hospital facilities. He emphasized that uniform healthcare must be extended to all CDA employees, from Grade 1 to Grade 21, and also approved a higher OPD limit for treatment at private hospitals.
The meeting further decided to launch telemedicine and video consultation services, particularly at Basic Health Units (BHUs), to provide quick medical advice in remote areas.
Additionally, the CDA will negotiate discounted treatment packages with Islamabad’s top hospitals under the insurance plan to lower costs and improve healthcare access for employees and their families.
