The Interior Ministry has approved the purchase of 20 double-cabin vehicles to enhance the mobility and efficiency of Islamabad police and the city administration, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to details, the vehicles will be distributed equally, with 10 allocated to the police and 10 to the administration. The move is aimed at improving field operations, administrative performance, and overall law enforcement capacity in the federal capital.
All eight assistant commissioners of Islamabad will receive double-cabin vehicles under the plan, while the additional deputy commissioner general will also be provided one.
On the policing side, the vehicles will be assigned to superintendents of police (SPs) posted in the Operations Division. Senior officials, including the SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, SSP Security, and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), are also designated to benefit from the allocation.
Sources further disclosed that from next month, the Islamabad Police’s SP Dolphin will also be equipped with a double-cabin vehicle to strengthen patrolling operations across the city.
