Uzbekistan Airways to Increase Number of Flights to Two Pakistani Cities

In a move aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, advancing economic diplomacy, and boosting tourism, Uzbekistan Airways has announced an expansion in its flight operations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

According to the Uzbek embassy in Islamabad, both countries are steadily enhancing cooperation in multiple areas, with transport and logistics — particularly direct air links — playing a central role.

From October 28, the airline will double its weekly flights on the Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent route, increasing frequency from one to two flights per week. At present, Uzbekistan Airways operates two weekly flights (Wednesdays and Fridays) on the Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent route and one weekly flight (Saturdays) on the Islamabad sector.

Officials noted that consistently high demand, with flights operating at full capacity and tickets selling out well in advance, prompted the decision to expand services.

The embassy added that the additional flights would not only provide convenience for passengers but also strengthen trade and investment opportunities, encourage business linkages, and promote people-to-people exchanges.

It further highlighted that the expansion would support cultural and humanitarian ties between the two “brotherly nations.”

Beyond bilateral benefits, the increase in services also offers an edge for global travelers. Tashkent International Airport functions as a vital transit hub, connecting passengers from Pakistan to major destinations across Europe, North America, and Asia — making Uzbekistan Airways an attractive choice for international connections.

The embassy emphasized that these steps reflect the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and mark a new chapter in deepening regional connectivity and cooperation.
