Islamabad Administration Reopens Margalla Hiking Trails

The Islamabad district administration has reopened all hiking trails in Margalla Hills, allowing citizens to resume outdoor activities after days of restricted access. The Deputy Commissioner announced the decision following an improvement in weather conditions.

According to the administration, the trails had been temporarily closed due to heavy rains in the city, which raised safety concerns for hikers. Officials said the move was aimed at ensuring public safety as slippery paths and possible landslides posed risks during wet conditions.

The Deputy Commissioner confirmed that the closures were precautionary and aligned with the safety authorities’ recommendations. He noted that with the weather clearing up, conditions were now suitable for hiking.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast no significant rainfall in the coming days, which further encouraged the administration to reopen the trails. Officials assured that monitoring will continue to ensure a safe experience for visitors.

With immediate effect, citizens can once again head to Margalla Hills and other trails across Islamabad for hiking and recreational activities. The administration urged visitors to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines while enjoying outdoor excursions.
