The Punjab government has unveiled a major housing project aimed at building 57,000 affordable homes across 21 districts of the province.
According to the Housing Department, the residences will be constructed on government-owned land under a five-year plan. In the first phase, 41 sites have been identified for the construction of 2,000 housing units.
A spokesperson for the Housing Department said the initiative is designed to provide quality and affordable housing to deserving citizens through easy installment plans. The project will be developed in partnership with the World Bank and the private sector.
The spokesperson added that all essential facilities will be made available to residents, while strict monitoring and quality inspections will be ensured during construction.
The department also confirmed that the project will soon be presented to the provincial cabinet for formal approval.
