Punjab Government Raises Monthly Fees for Schools Across Punjab

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has officially announced an increase in the monthly per-child fee structure for its partner schools operating under the Foundation-Assisted Schools (FAS), Education Voucher Scheme (EVS), and New School Program (NSP). The revised fee schedule will be implemented from September 2025.

Reason for Increase

In its circular, PEF explained that partner schools have faced increasing financial pressure due to rising inflation and operational costs, including teacher salaries and classroom expenses. To help schools maintain academic quality, the foundation decided to raise the per-child monthly fee across all grade levels.

Class Level New Monthly Fee
Nursery to Class II Rs. 800
Class III to V Rs. 900
Class VI to VIII Rs. 1,100
Class IX to X (Arts Group) Rs. 1,400
Class IX to X (Science Group) Rs. 1,800
Intermediate (Arts Group) Rs. 2,000
Intermediate (Science Group) Rs. 2,200

PEF has directed all partner schools to not only apply the revised per-child fees but also ensure that teacher honorariums are increased in line with the new structure. The foundation emphasized that this step is intended to ease financial difficulties faced by schools and ensure that both staff and students benefit from the adjustment.

With this revision, schools within the PEF network are expected to enhance their financial sustainability while continuing to offer free or subsidized education to thousands of low-income families in Punjab. The foundation noted that this measure is necessary to safeguard quality learning outcomes despite economic challenges.
