Two labourers lost their lives in Hanjarwal on Saturday after consuming contaminated food, police said.
Arshad and Sajjad had purchased dahi bhallay from a food cart in the Hanjarwal area. Soon after eating, they collapsed and were rushed to hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities took the bodies to the morgue for autopsy as part of the investigation. However, the families of the deceased later came forward and asked police not to record the case.
