The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert across the province regarding the threat of dengue fever. Citizens have been strongly advised to follow preventive measures to avoid the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.
Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed all relevant departments to implement emergency dengue prevention protocols. Sanitation in flood-affected areas is being prioritized, and efforts are underway to ensure clean and mosquito-free environments.
Local administrations have been ordered to maintain cleanliness and eliminate mosquito breeding sites. Special attention is being given to hospitals and clinics, with directions to ensure the timely availability of diagnostic facilities and medical care for dengue patients.
Residents are encouraged to keep their surroundings clean, avoid water accumulation, and use mosquito repellents and safety nets. In case of any symptoms or emergency, citizens can contact the PDMA’s helpline at 1129.
The PDMA has also urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities by reporting suspected dengue breeding grounds and following all official health advisories.
