Motorway Police Launches Aggressive Crackdown Against Famous Fraud at Service Areas

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have launched a special campaign to curb cash drop fraud in motorway service areas, following reports that some shopkeepers were deceiving travelers by returning less money during transactions or engaging in other dishonest practices.

According to spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, the campaign has been initiated in Sector M-2 South to protect road users from financial exploitation. The initiative includes several measures aimed at raising awareness and preventing fraudulent activities.

As part of the drive, panaflex banners have been installed at service areas to warn travelers about potential scams. Educational units of the Motorway Police are also conducting awareness sessions in service area mosques, informing the public about their rights and how to remain vigilant.

Additionally, passengers are being briefed at designated movie points regarding the risks of cash drop fraud and ways to safeguard themselves.
