A popular Dubai chocolate brand has been recalled from markets after health officials confirmed possible Salmonella contamination.
Authorities announced that the Dubai Pistachio & Knafeh Milk Chocolate recall is tied to an ongoing investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. Consumers are urged to avoid the affected products immediately.
Health experts have advised that anyone who feels unwell after eating the chocolate should contact a doctor without delay. Buyers are also asked to check their homes for recalled items and either return them to the store or dispose of them safely.
Food safety officials stressed that Salmonella-contaminated items may not look or smell unusual but can still cause serious illness. The infection poses the greatest danger to young children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and headaches. In severe cases, long-term complications such as arthritis may occur.
The recalled product, Pistachio & Knafeh Milk Chocolate, became popular for its blend of creamy milk chocolate with pistachios and knafeh, a Middle Eastern dessert. It is commonly stocked in grocery stores, particularly in the sweets and international foods section.
