LESCO Announces Good News for Net Metering Consumers

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has decided to make payments to consumers for the electricity exported to the grid through their solar systems, according to City42 news channel.

According to sources, the payments will be made based on the number of exported units, in compliance with the policy of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). The process will involve verification and cross-checking before disbursement.

Consumers will need to approach their relevant LESCO offices to claim the additional amount, which will be adjusted separately from regular electricity bills. Officials said divisional and revenue officers will be responsible for inspecting net metering connections.

After inspection, cases will be prepared by revenue offices on the basis of a test check proforma.

Once prepared, the case will be forwarded to the finance department. Following approval, consumers will be issued cross checks against the value of exported units.
