These 38 Nursing Colleges Are Fake

The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has released a list of 38 unrecognized nursing colleges operating across the country, cautioning parents and students against seeking admission in them. The council has clarified that degrees from such institutions will not carry any official recognition.

According to the breakdown, 25 of these colleges are based in Punjab, five in Islamabad, five in Sindh, and two in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Officials noted that the registration and inspection process was delayed due to a recent ordinance issued by the President, which restructured the PNMC.

Despite the presence of 755 registered nursing institutes nationwide, Pakistan continues to face a significant shortage of trained nurses. This gap, officials say, is being exploited by unapproved institutions that enroll students without meeting official standards.
