The UAE has introduced the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Fellowships, a flagship initiative aimed at building a new generation of government leaders in collaboration with some of the world’s leading academic institutions.
Described as strategic investments in human capital, the fellowships go beyond education by equipping participants with skills essential for shaping the nation’s long-term prosperity.
“This is the path toward the future we aspire to — one that guarantees sustainable progress for our country and people,” said Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
The programme launches with two specialized master’s tracks:
- Economic Strategies and International Policy
- Artificial Intelligence for the Public Sector
These courses will be delivered in partnership with top-ranking global universities recognized for excellence in public sector innovation and executive education, selected according to the 2026 global university rankings.
In its first phase, exceptional Emirati professionals from government institutions will be nominated to join the fellowship. Participants will be evenly distributed between the two areas of study.
Partner institutions include:
- Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (50 fellows)
- University of Oxford (25 fellows)
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (25 fellows)
- New York University (40 fellows)
- Georgetown University (60 fellows)
A total of 200 fellows will be selected: 100 specializing in economic strategy and international policy, and 100 focusing on artificial intelligence in government.
Graduates will gain advanced expertise in policy design, international strategy, and applied AI — empowering them to drive digital transformation, craft forward-looking policies, and enhance the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Al Gergawi emphasized that continued investment in people is key to maintaining the UAE’s leadership in government transformation and sustainable development, with economic strategy, AI, and international policy serving as the foundation for national progress.
