Chery has expanded its Tiggo 9 lineup in China with the launch of the Tiggo 9 C-DM, the first plug-in hybrid version of its popular mid-to-large SUV. It is expected to reach Pakistan soon.
The company also rolled out updates to the standard Tiggo 9 and introduced a new entry-level Tiggo 9X, according to CarNewsChina.
The Tiggo 9 C-DM combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a front-mounted electric motor and a three-speed hybrid transmission. The system aims to deliver both strong performance and improved efficiency by balancing petrol and electric power.
The model is equipped with a 19.43 kWh lithium battery that supports fast charging. On a full charge, the SUV provides enough pure-electric range for everyday city driving. When combining the fuel tank and battery, it achieves more than 1,400 km under WLTC standards, making it suitable for longer journeys without range limitations.
The regular Tiggo 9 continues with its established 2.0-litre turbo engine. While there are no major mechanical changes, Chery has added new equipment and comfort features to keep the SUV competitive in China’s fast-moving market.
At the lower end of the lineup, the Tiggo 9X offers a simplified version of the SUV with modest exterior changes and a reduced feature set. It provides buyers with Tiggo 9 styling at a lower price point.
The new Tiggo 9 lineup is available at the following prices in China:
These prices reflect the Chinese market only. Right-hand-drive and export versions, if offered, may differ.
At present, the Tiggo 9 C-DM is exclusive to China. Chery Pakistan is expected to share announcements in the coming week, but no official confirmation has been made regarding a local launch.
