Latest World Test Championship Points Table After India Thumps West Indies in Opening Test

India continued to strengthen its position in the World Test Championship table after delivering a commanding performance in Ahmedabad against the struggling West Indies.

The hosts eased to an innings-and-140-runs win in the first Test of the two-match series, sending another strong message of their intentions.

After declaring at 448/5 on the back of centuries from KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104*), India’s bowlers took charge. West Indies were bowled out for 162 and 146 in their two innings, extending their miserable run in the ongoing WTC cycle.

Mohammed Siraj claimed seven wickets in the match, including a devastating four-for in the first innings, which now makes him the highest wicket-taker in this WTC cycle so far. Jadeja grabbed 4/54 in the second innings, while Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with crucial strikes as India wrapped up the game in just three days.

The result pushes India to third place on the WTC table with a 55.56% points percentage, while West Indies remain winless at the bottom with four defeats in as many matches.
