Sindh Government to Introduce E-Marking and Automation in Educational Boards

The Sindh government has announced plans to introduce automation and an e-marking system in all educational boards across the province as part of its efforts to enhance the quality, transparency, and efficiency of the education system.

The announcement was made by Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, during a ceremony organised by the All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association at the Bahria Auditorium, Karsaz, Karachi, in celebration of World Teachers’ Day. The event also honoured students who secured top positions in board examinations.

The ceremony was attended by Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, MPA Syeda Marvi Rashdi, Additional Director Rafia Mallah, chairpersons of various educational boards, as well as numerous teachers and students.

Modernising Examination Systems

Minister Rahoo announced that the government would soon roll out automation and e-marking systems across all provincial educational boards.

“This initiative will ensure faster, more accurate, and transparent examination processes,” he explained. “With computerised paper checking, we can minimise human error and deliver results more efficiently.”

He added that the new digital framework would make the boards modern, efficient, and eco-friendly, while ongoing projects would be completed and new reforms introduced to curb cheating during exams.

Strengthening Education and Teachers’ Role

Mr. Rahoo noted that the Sindh government had hired thousands of teachers on merit and expanded the number of universities in the province to increase access to higher education for young people.

He paid tribute to teachers, describing them as the cornerstone of a progressive and educated society, and urged all stakeholders to contribute to the educational reform process aimed at raising academic standards across Sindh.

During the event, more than 100 high-achieving students were honoured for their accomplishments, while teachers received shields in recognition of their dedication and service to education.

The ceremony highlighted the critical role of educators and celebrated their ongoing contributions to shaping the province’s educational landscape.
