The Punjab government has announced a cash reward of Rs. 100 million for the top 100 performing schools across the province’s 36 districts.
Each selected school will receive Rs. 1 million for demonstrating excellence in performance. Both Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority (PEIMA) schools that are outsourced by the government will also be eligible for the reward.
A third-party evaluation will be conducted to assess schools based on their academic results, infrastructure, classroom environment, and availability of basic facilities.
The awarded funds can be used by school principals at their discretion for the improvement and welfare of their institutions and students.
Meanwhile, the third phase of the school outsourcing program has been temporarily paused. According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the outsourcing process has been halted for two months to allow Phase 2 schools to stabilize.
He added that the third phase, originally scheduled to begin on October 5, 2025, will only proceed once the previously outsourced schools are functioning smoothly.
