The Sindh government has suspended the notification that introduced changes to deductions and payments related to pensions and outstanding dues of provincial employees.
Acting on the directives of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Cabinet approved the suspension of the earlier notification concerning amendments in the pension and dues payment system for government employees.
A committee led by the Chief Secretary has been tasked with preparing detailed recommendations on various aspects of the Benevolent Fund — including employee contributions, payment mechanisms, benefit structures, and proposed legal amendments.
The Sindh Employees Alliance had earlier urged the provincial government to adopt a system similar to that of the Balochistan government, under which Benevolent Fund payments are made at the time of retirement. The alliance also demanded that the benefits of the fund should not be limited only to cases of death or disability.
