Pakistan to Host First-Ever Maritime Investment Conference to Boost Blue Economy

Pakistan will hold the first-ever Maritime Investment Conference 2025 to boost the blue economy.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced the plans at an event aimed at showcasing major investment opportunities across the country’s maritime sector. Chairing a high-level meeting on Wednesday, the minister said the conference will highlight both micro and macro investment prospects for local and international investors.

The goal, he added, is to attract sustainable investments to strengthen Pakistan’s blue economy and maritime infrastructure. The meeting reviewed key details, including the date, venue, and thematic focus of the upcoming conference, the first of its kind in Pakistan.

Officials agreed that the event will serve as a strategic platform to position the country as a regional hub for maritime investment and innovation.

Participants also discussed priority investment areas, including port development, fisheries, marine transport, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism, aligning with national goals of economic diversification and sustainable growth.

A major highlight of the session was the plan for a comprehensive media and branding campaign to attract participation from global investors, financial institutions, and development partners.

He stressed that public and private collaboration will be key to revitalizing Pakistan’s maritime potential. The upcoming conference, he said, will mark a “significant milestone” in advancing the country’s blue economy and maritime development goals.

Minister Chaudhry directed officials to finalize standard templates for investment proposals and project submissions to streamline the evaluation and approval process for new ventures in the sector.
