Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has ordered a comprehensive crackdown against the public display of weapons and the rising “Dala Culture”, which he said promotes intimidation and lawlessness in the city.
Chairing a meeting to review the monthly performance of the Civil Lines and Model Town police divisions, the CCPO directed DIG (Operations) to launch targeted operations to curb the unlawful presence of armed individuals and those using firearms to impress or threaten others.
Kamyana emphasized the need for strict action against narcotics networks, directing officials to trace and dismantle the supply chains behind local drug cases. “There must be no leniency towards drug dealers. Tracing their links is crucial for long-term results,” he said.
He also instructed police personnel to improve public service at front desks, ensuring that all complaints are handled promptly and transparently. “Officers must maintain direct contact with complainants to guarantee timely and impartial justice,” he added.
To tackle street crime, the CCPO ordered enhanced patrolling in hotspot areas and directed officials to make full use of the Hotel Eye surveillance software to track suspicious movements.
