Punjab Citizens Can Now Check Real-Time Air Quality With New EcoBot

The Punjab government has launched Pakistan’s first “EcoBot”, an artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant designed to improve environmental monitoring and public engagement.

According to Environment Protection Department Secretary Sajid Bashir, the EcoBot serves as a direct communication bridge between citizens and the department, allowing residents to instantly access real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) information for major cities, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan.

Officials said the EcoBot uses AI technology to interact with users, providing personalized responses and practical guidance on how to protect against air pollution. It will also share tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about environmental protection.

Bashir noted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to using modern technology to tackle pollution and climate challenges. “Our goal is to make Punjab cleaner and greener through innovative digital solutions,” he said.

The launch of EcoBot marks a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to combine technology and environmental management, offering citizens easier access to information and encouraging more active participation in sustainability initiatives.
