CAA Temporarily Allows Private Airline to Operate Flights

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed Serene Air to resume limited flight operations to facilitate the return of Pakistani passengers stranded in Saudi Arabia.

According to an official notification, the airline has been granted temporary permission to operate special flights for two weeks to complete the repatriation process.

Hundreds of passengers had already purchased Serene Air tickets and were reportedly stuck in Saudi Arabia after the CAA had suspended Serene Air’s flight operations earlier this month. The suspension came after Serene Air had failed to maintain a functional fleet. On October 5, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) revoked the airline’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC), confirming that none of its aircraft were airworthy at the time.

The suspension will remain in effect until the airline restores its fleet and fulfills the regulatory requirements for reinstatement. The CAA also instructed Serene Air to return all operational certificates for review and endorsement.

Founded in 2017 with a fleet of five Boeing 737 aircraft, Serene Air has been grounded for several weeks due to ongoing financial issues.

In response, Serene Air assured passengers that the suspension was temporary and said it was working closely with the CAA to resume flights as soon as possible.
