Islamabad Police Issues Warning Against Fake Call and SMS Scams

Islamabad Police has issued a public warning urging citizens to stay alert against fake phone calls and fraudulent text messages.

In an awareness message, the police advised people not to share their personal or financial information with anyone over the phone or through SMS, emphasizing that even a moment’s carelessness could lead to online fraud.

Officials stressed the importance of verifying any suspicious communication before responding, as scammers often pose as representatives of government institutions, banks, or law enforcement agencies to deceive people.

The police have urged the public to report such fake calls or messages immediately through the 15 helpline or at the nearest police station to help curb cyber and financial crimes in the capital.
