Road closures were previously enforced due to a protest by a religious group, during which several main arteries were blocked with containers and barbed wire. The restrictions had caused severe inconvenience to commuters and disrupted normal traffic operations in and around the twin cities.

With all routes now clear, Islamabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to follow traffic rules and stay updated through official advisories. The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring public convenience across the capital.
