Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Gujranwala reveals a clear performance gap between male and female students. Across every academic stream, both regular and private, female candidates outperformed their male counterparts, continuing a consistent trend that has been observed in previous years.

  • Boys: 67,120 appeared, 31,819 passed – 47.42%
  • Girls: 78,297 appeared, 41,138 passed – 52.54%
  • Combined: 145,417 appeared, 72,957 passed – 49.95%

Regular Candidates Performance

Humanities Group

  • Male: 12,414 appeared, 2,724 passed – 21.94%
  • Female: 27,316 appeared, 14,108 passed – 51.65%

Pre-Medical Group

  • Male: 5,677 appeared, 2,837 passed – 49.97%
  • Female: 24,895 appeared, 15,659 passed – 62.90%

Pre-Engineering Group

  • Male: 2,983 appeared, 1,735 passed – 58.16%
  • Female: 2,344 appeared, 1,702 passed – 72.61%

General Science Group

  • Male: 19,949 appeared, 8,155 passed – 40.88%
  • Female: 24,018 appeared, 14,108 passed – 58.77%

Commerce Group

  • Male: 4,725 appeared, 1,596 passed – 33.78%
  • Female: 4,690 appeared, 2,921 passed – 62.28%

Gender Gap in Academic Performance

Female students outperformed male students in every major group. The gender gap exceeds 20% in humanities and commerce, where girls recorded significantly higher success rates. In commerce and general science, the female edge was also consistent, reinforcing the overall trend across the Gujranwala Board.
