Mohammad Amir’s enduring romance with franchise cricket continues as the former Pakistan pacer has officially signed with Quetta Qavalry for their debut campaign in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League, kicking off on November 18.
This move deepens Amir’s ties with the Quetta cricketing family. He already represents Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), a team also owned by Nadeem Omar, who now brings his vision to the T10 format with Qavalry.
The 33-year-old left-arm quick brings a treasure trove of experience to his new team, having plied his trade in top-tier T20 leagues around the world, including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), The Hundred, ILT20, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and Lanka Premier League (LPL). Amir is no stranger to the T10 format either, having previously turned out for Bangla Tigers and New York Strikers, where he bagged 25 wickets in 35 matches.
Mohammad Amir’s last appearance in the cricket field was for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League last month. Despite getting left out of the upcoming ILT20, Amir remains one of the most in demand names on the cricketing circuit.
Quetta Qavalry are assembling a formidable squad for their maiden T10 outing. The franchise has already roped in some global stars, including Zimbabwe’s dynamic all-rounder Sikandar Raza, South Africa’s legendary leggie Imran Tahir, West Indies’ powerhouse Jason Holder, England’s explosive batter Liam Livingstone, USA’s rising talent Andries Gous, and UAE’s hard-hitting opener Muhammad Waseem.
With Mohammad Amir spearheading the bowling attack, Pakistani fans will be watching closely to see if Quetta Qavalry can channel the same fighting spirit and flair that made Quetta Gladiators a household name in the PSL.
