The Punjab Education Department is in the final stages of announcing the new schedule for schools across the province in light of the upcoming winter season.
The updated school hours will officially take effect from October 20, 2025, and are set to remain in place until March 2026.
According to reports, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has received the proposal and will soon formally sign it into effect.
Social media reports claimed that the provincial government is going to end the weekly Saturday holiday. However, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that the weekly holiday schedule remains unchanged, and schools will continue to observe Saturdays as off days.
