Pakistan Railways has revised the operating hours of its reservation offices in Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan to better serve passengers. Under the new schedule, booking offices in both cities will now remain open from 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight.
According to railway officials, the move aims to accommodate the growing number of passengers and improve convenience for those unable to visit during regular office hours. Authorities have encouraged commuters to take full advantage of the extended schedule and share their feedback to help further enhance service delivery.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has earned Rs13.547 billion in revenue over the past five fiscal years by leasing out its commercial and agricultural land. The initiative is part of the department’s broader strategy to transform the organization into a financially sustainable and profitable entity.
An official from the Ministry of Railways said approximately 14,042 acres of railway land have been leased for various commercial purposes through open and competitive bidding.
The process follows the Railway Property and Land Rules, 2023, which were approved by the Federal Cabinet to ensure transparency and fair allocation.
