The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has revised taxi fares across Dubai for rides booked through RTA-licensed smart apps, raising the base fare and introducing new peak-hour charges.
Under the updated tariff, the minimum fare has increased from Dh12 to Dh13. The RTA has also rolled out a structured peak-hour pricing system with variable booking fees depending on the day and time.
Weekday (Mon–Thu) fare breakdown
- Peak hours: 8:00–9:59 AM & 4:00–7:59 PM
- Flagfall: Dh5
- Peak-hour surcharge: Dh7.5
- Off-peak hours: All other times
- Flagfall: Dh5
- Off-peak surcharge: Dh4
Night hours (Mon–Thu)
- Flagfall: Dh5.5
- Surcharge: Dh4.5
Weekend (Sat–Sun) fare breakdown
- Peak slot 1: 4:00–9:59 PM
- Flagfall: Dh5
- Peak slot 2: 10:00–11:59 PM
- Flagfall: Dh5.5
- Standard peak surcharge: Dh7.5
The revised fare schedule applies exclusively to app-booked taxis operating under the RTA network. The authority has not yet specified whether the new pricing will extend to street-hailed taxis.
