Dubai has entered the list of the world’s top 10 most polluted cities.
According to the latest Air Quality Index (AQI) report, Dubai ranked eighth globally with an AQI of 153, placing it in the “unhealthy” category.
Experts attribute Dubai’s deteriorating air quality to rapid urbanization, heavy traffic emissions, and construction dust.
While the city is known for its cutting-edge infrastructure and green initiatives, rising pollution levels have become a growing challenge for both residents and policymakers.
The ranking shows a troubling rise in air pollution levels across several major cities.
Lahore, Pakistan topped the list with a hazardous AQI of 340, followed by Delhi at 219, and Kolkata at 190.
Other cities in the top 10 include Karachi, Dhaka, Beijing, Kuwait City, Manama, and Kampala.
