RDA Seals Illegal Constructions in Famous Housing Scheme

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed an illegally built commercial structure, along with three residential rooms and two security guard rooms, during an operation in Bahria Town Phase VII, as part of its ongoing campaign against unauthorized constructions.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the operation was conducted under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021, following directives from Director General Kinza Murtaza. The property owner had constructed buildings without obtaining mandatory approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The spokesperson added that DG Kinza Murtaza instructed the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to take strict action against encroachments and illegal commercial activities without discrimination.

She also directed the Building Control Wing to review fees for the approval of unauthorized structures, commercialization cases, and building plans, with an aim to regularize illegal residential and commercial properties within RDA’s jurisdiction.

“RDA is fully committed to maintaining proper urban development and regulation,” the spokesperson emphasized, urging citizens to avoid illegal construction and cooperate with authorities to prevent future losses.

The operation was led by Assistant Director Town Planning Muhammad Daud and Building Surveyor Aamir Mahmood Malik, along with other members of the RDA enforcement team.

  • Why RDA and other agency allows housing societies to lunch their product without approval or opening of offices or start work on any site. Its means that they are party to owner of societies and helping grabbing money from people.
