Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed officials to make Air Punjab operational at the earliest, emphasizing that the provincial airline must launch with modern and comfortable aircraft on lease.
According to media reports, she chaired a detailed review meeting in Lahore, and the Chief Minister was briefed on the progress of the Air Punjab project. She instructed the authorities to complete Phase One immediately and ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met without delay.
The meeting also agreed on the initial flight route between Lahore and Islamabad, which will serve as the airline’s first operational corridor.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed that Air Punjab should provide affordable, efficient, and passenger-friendly services, adding that the project represents an important step in boosting connectivity and economic activity within the province.
The session also reviewed the progress of the Muree Glass Train Project, where the Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to speed up implementation and ensure timely completion.
Officials noted that the provincial government aims to position Air Punjab as a modern regional carrier that enhances travel convenience and strengthens tourism and trade links across Punjab.
Were not able to operate PIA that caused billions of losses at the hands of corrupt government and its employees high level. Now they starting to operate Punhab Air that will further aid miseries to the national kitty. They only want to make their own travelling comfortable and enjoy the perks which no country in the word have other than corrupt government here in this poor country which is on oxygen and standing on clutches.

PIA is going to be privatised as it is not beneficial to run by govt. On the other hand Punjab is starting its own airline. How it will be beneficial?
The so-called Air Punjab will not see light of the day and it is bound to remain a mad idea only.
Airline business is highly volatile, as I hv spent 30 years in it. It’s a risky high volume and low margin business. Punjab govt should no
t take this risk. As it requires heavy investment and with a little downturn revenue goes into minus 20 to 30% whereas actual margin of profit is not more than 5%
Focus should be on building water projects. We are running into an era where there will be only floods or droughts rapidly losing useable water resources. More dams, sewage processing units, water filtrations units, recharging wells, rainwater harvesting strategies need urgent attention.
Further, for development we should focus on vocational education, rural and small scale textile units for job opportunities, MOUs with leading industries to give internships to our youth, MOUs with International Universities to offer local as well as abroad education opportunities, MOUs with International Hospitals to improve healthcare and healthcare education.
Masstransit like Metro fair should be increased so that no subsidy has to be given to maintain it. Government expenditure must be minimized by limiting Fuel usage and other undue allowances.
It’s really unbelievable..,one sided they are selling national airline PIA.., on the other hand they are preparing to launch private airline… or provincial airline.
All doors of that earnings which generate finance for country are closing, while private airlines are being launched just earn for some people..,
Judges have more constitution power to control and evaluate this, but they are also enjoying increased salaries and Are silent.
Marium Nawaz Sahiba I like you very much but i would like to remind you that operating an airline is not a business in which government should involve. Corrupt officers will soon make it another PIA and then government will sent it Nijkari Commision as previously practiced.
Not a good idea at all to start a new airline in Pakistan at this moment, a recipe for a sure shot failure and extensive financial losses 📉
