Made in Pakistan Ventilator Launched at Karachi Expo Center

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal inaugurated Pakistan’s first locally developed ventilator during a ceremony held at the Karachi Expo Center.

Speaking to reporters, Kamal said that Pakistan had long depended on imported ventilators, but the new device marks an important step toward self-reliance in healthcare technology. “When faced with challenges, our nation always stands united and delivers results,” he said.

He added that the process of licensing medical equipment has been fully digitized, making it more transparent and efficient. “In the past, paperwork delays and bribery were common. Now, the online system has minimized corruption and made the process much easier,” the minister explained.

Kamal emphasized that the government’s focus is on using authority for public welfare. “If we use our power positively, no external force can destroy us,” he said, highlighting the prime minister’s continued support for the health sector.

The minister admitted that Pakistan still faces major challenges in healthcare. “District governments need to take responsibility to make healthcare more effective. We are working tirelessly to bring real improvement,” he said.

Referring to vaccine hesitancy, Kamal criticized those who view vaccination as a conspiracy. “Some people still call vaccines a Jewish plot, but the truth is, vaccines save lives everywhere in the world,” he said.

He also shared updates on major healthcare projects, noting that hospitals in Karachi are under provincial control. “The federal government is building a Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad, and we plan to establish a similar facility in Karachi soon,” Kamal added.

Ventilators are not yours water cooler you can make at home. It’s just a claim.

You need to pass international testing and get license to be created and sold.
