Sanitation Tax Imposed in Another Punjab City

Bahawalnagar authorities have decided to impose a sanitation tax on citizens. In the first phase, the tax will apply to commercial properties. Local shopkeepers have already received sanitation tax challans. Small traders are required to pay a monthly tax of Rs. 500.

Traders in Bahawalnagar are urging the government to withdraw the new tax. They argue that business conditions are already tough and traders are under pressure. Many say they clean their own shops and dispose of waste themselves.

Shopkeepers insist that the sanitation tax is not a business-friendly move. They believe it will only add to their financial burdens. Traders are calling on officials to reconsider the decision and support local businesses instead.

The new tax has sparked debate in the city, with many traders demanding relief rather than new charges. The situation remains tense as authorities push forward with the implementation.
