Islamabad High Court Summons CDA Chairman in Contempt Case

The Islamabad High Court has summoned the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to appear in person on November 25 in a contempt of court case related to the allotment of plots in a private housing society.

The case was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani on a petition filed by Muhammad Yameen.

During the hearing, Justice Kayani remarked that the matter would now be resolved in court, instructing the CDA Chairman to appear personally on the next date. He expressed dissatisfaction with the CDA’s handling of the issue, stating that if the authority fails to form a committee to address the matter, the court would exercise its powers to constitute one.

Justice Kayani observed that the CDA Board had held meetings but failed to take effective steps. He noted that if the court issues an order, board members may have to hold their meeting within the courtroom. “My order may hurt their ego, but if the CDA does not act, the court will,” Justice Kayani said.

The judge further remarked that many people had been misled with false promises regarding plot allotments. He criticized the CDA for its lack of seriousness in resolving the matter, stressing that the authority must demonstrate responsibility and take concrete action.

Concluding the hearing, the Islamabad High Court directed the CDA Chairman to appear before the bench in person and adjourned the case until November 25.

  • haha, let give the servant enough time to make solid excuse and clean the blood till 25th.

  • Unless we get local govt and an elected mayor(NOT selected like the last one), CDA will continue to lord it over the hapless citizens of our Islamabad.
