Peshawar Police has developed a cutting-edge surveillance drone capable of operating within a 10-kilometer range and equipped with an advanced laser targeting system.
According to the Central Police Office (CPO), the newly designed drone underwent a successful test at the Nowshera Police Centre on Thursday.
The high-performance drone can carry a payload of up to 10 kilograms and supports night-vision cameras, tear gas canisters, and even mortar rounds.
Weighing approximately 55 kilograms and measuring nearly two meters in length, it can maintain flight for up to one hour at a speed of 36 kilometers per hour and reach an altitude of 1,000 meters.
Police officials said the drone will play a critical role in counterterrorism operations, search and rescue missions, and crowd management. They added that it will enhance situational awareness and significantly improve response times during emergencies.
A police spokesperson noted that the introduction of this advanced drone places the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police among Pakistan’s most modern and technologically equipped law enforcement agencies.
