Samsung has introduced a beta version of its Internet browser for Windows for the first time. The rollout is currently limited to users in the United States and South Korea, with support for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The Samsung Internet browser has long been the default option on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. With the new desktop release, Samsung aims to offer a consistent browsing experience across devices, particularly for those already using its products.
The Windows version allows users to sync bookmarks, browsing history, saved pages, and passwords between their phone and PC through a Samsung account. This should make it easier to continue browsing on your PC after leaving your phone, or vice versa.
Samsung has equipped the browser with Galaxy AI-powered features, including Browsing Assist, which provides functions like webpage summarization and automatic translation. In addition, the browser includes Smart Anti-Tracking, a privacy feature that limits third-party tracking and blocks unwanted pop-ups.
The beta version of Samsung Internet supports both x86 and ARM-based processors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of laptops and desktops. Users must be running Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or any version of Windows 11, to install the browser.
Samsung has not confirmed a global release date but stated that the browser will expand to more markets after initial testing in the US and South Korea.
