Dubai Announces 15,000 New Jobs

Dubai’s Crown Prince has approved a sweeping set of policies to make the emirate one of the world’s most beautiful, liveable, and healthiest cities. The new initiatives, announced during the UAE Annual Government Meetings 2025, cover everything from urban greenery and affordable schools to early cancer detection and aviation jobs.

The Executive Council of Dubai, chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, gave the green light to several ambitious projects. These include the Public Parks and Greenery Strategy, the Aviation Talent 33 initiative, a policy to expand affordable schools, the Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, the creation of a Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court, and the expansion of early detection healthcare services.

Urban Greening and Parks

Dubai will see over 800 new greenery projects, including 310 new parks and upgrades to 322 existing ones. The plan aims to triple the number of trees, provide 187 square kilometres of green areas, and use 100% recycled water for irrigation. By 2040, Dubai hopes to boost annual park visits to 95 million and ensure 80% of residents live within a five-minute walk of a park.

Aviation Talent

The Aviation Talent 33 initiative will reinforce Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub. The plan includes over 15,000 job opportunities, 4,000 training slots, and more than 30 strategic partnerships. It also supports the goal of doubling Dubai’s economy and adding 65,000 Emiratis to the private sector.

Affordable Schools

Dubai will add around 60 new affordable schools by 2033, creating 120,000 new seats. The policy offers incentives like reduced government fees and lower land leasing costs to encourage investment in private education.

Global Sporting Hub

The Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 aims to make Dubai the world’s leading sports hub. The plan features 19 programmes and 75 initiatives across 17 sports, focusing on international events, talent development, and public participation.

Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court

A new court will handle financial reorganisation and bankruptcy cases, helping companies settle debts and protect creditor rights. The project aims to make Dubai one of the world’s top three financial centres.

Early Disease Detection

Dubai will expand early detection healthcare services for Emiratis, aiming to reduce chronic diseases and boost healthy life expectancy. The project targets a 40% increase in colon cancer screening, a 50% rise in vaccination services, and over 90% patient satisfaction, with appointment waiting times cut to seven days or less.
