Islamabad to Crackdown on Unregistered Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes

The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has announced a citywide crackdown on unregistered food outlets and restaurants starting December 1, 2025.

The decision follows directives from the IFA Director, who instructed all unregistered food businesses in the federal capital to complete their registration by November 30. After the deadline, strict enforcement actions, including heavy fines and sealing of premises, will be taken against violators.

Inspectors have been ordered to carry out daily inspections across Islamabad to ensure compliance with food safety and registration requirements.

An internal investigation conducted by the Department of Tourism revealed that over 600 hotels and restaurants in the capital are currently operating without registration, including several well-known food chains.

Officials emphasized that the campaign aims to ensure food safety, consumer protection, and accountability, adding that no food establishment, large or small, will be exempt from the upcoming operation.
