Apple was widely expected to launch the iPhone Air 2 next September, unveiling it alongside the iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e were slated to arrive together in spring 2027. However, a new report from The Information indicates that the next iPhone Air has now been delayed.
The delay appears linked to the underwhelming performance of the original iPhone Air, with weak sales leading Apple to reduce orders from its suppliers.
Foxconn, which produces the iPhone Air, is reportedly set to halt production of the device by the end of this month. Luxshare already ended its involvement in October.
Apple continues to face challenges in developing a fourth iPhone model that can appeal to consumers alongside the mainline, Pro, and Pro Max devices. Previous attempts, including the mini and Plus variants, have struggled to attract sustained demand.
If the iPhone Air 2 is not cancelled, it is likely to debut with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e in spring 2027. Recent rumors suggest that the updated model may feature a second rear camera, a change many expected in the original version.
