Govt Likely to Reduce Petrol Price Within Days

The federal government is expected to reduce the per-litre price of MS petrol in this week’s petroleum price update for the next fortnight, while diesel, kerosene, and light diesel oil are likely to become more expensive, according to sources.

Petrol rates could fall up to Rs. 2 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel could increase by Rs. 9.60 per litre, marking a substantial jump driven by recent market trends.

If approved, the new price of high-speed diesel is expected to be set at Rs. 288.40 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its pricing summary to the government on November 15, based on international market trends and industry data.

Previously, the government increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 3.02 per litre, bringing it to Rs. 278.44. The price of petrol was increased by Rs. 2.43 per litre to Rs. 265.43 per litre.
