PCB Drops Major Update on Pakistan’s T20 Tri-Nation Series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially addressed the future of the upcoming T20I Tri-Nation Series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, confirming that it will go ahead as planned.

However, the PCB has introduced changes to the itinerary following the recent rescheduling of the ongoing Pakistan–Sri Lanka ODI series.

The tournament will now begin on November 18, a day later than initially scheduled, with hosts Pakistan taking on Zimbabwe in the opening clash under lights. The PCB has also announced that all matches will start at 6 PM local time, offering fans prime-time entertainment throughout the competition.

The most significant adjustment is that all matches will now be staged in Rawalpindi. Lahore, which was originally set to share hosting duties, has been dropped as the PCB seeks to provide a secure environment for the teams to play stress-free cricket.

Each team will play four matches in the round-robin stage, with the top two sides advancing to the final on Saturday, November 29. The event promises to deliver high-quality cricket and serve as an important part of Pakistan’s preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Updated Tri-nation Series Schedule:

Date Match Venue
18 November Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
20 November Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
22 November Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
23 November Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
25 November Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
27 November Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
29 November Final Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Despite recent developments, Pakistan’s decision to proceed with hosting the tri-nation series sends a clear message to the cricketing world: the nation remains steadfast in its commitment to the sport it considers its heartbeat.
