Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a major weather warning, forecasting widespread heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and possible flash floods across several cities in Saudi Arabia from 14 November, Friday, through 18 November, Tuesday.
The unstable weather is expected to impact both coastal and inland areas, including Makkah, Jeddah, Madinah, Tabuk, Al Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Al Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Al Baha, Asir, and Jazan, according to the NCM’s latest update.
Meteorologists cautioned that the intensity of the rainfall will vary across regions, but some areas could face severe downpours leading to flooding, water accumulation, and temporary disruptions.
The Civil Defense and other emergency departments are on high alert, urging residents to avoid valleys, flood-prone areas, and unnecessary travel during the storm period. Motorists have been advised to drive carefully in low visibility and slippery conditions.
Authorities also called on the public to follow official updates and safety instructions issued by the NCM and Civil Defense, especially in mountainous and coastal zones, where flash floods and strong winds are most likely.
The weather agency added that it will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as the situation evolves over the coming days.
