The Punjab Education Foundation has announced that its partner schools will now observe a holiday on Saturdays. Previously, schools operating under PEF did not have a Saturday off.
Along with this change, school timings have also been revised. Classes will now run from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm, while on Fridays, schools will close at 12:30 pm.
These updated timings will remain in effect until April 15, 2026.
Last month, the Punjab Education Foundation launched a large-scale recruitment campaign with more than 100 vacancies across various departments.
The hiring list also features eight Subject Specialist positions in core subjects, as well as openings for Network Support Engineers and Executive Assistants. Additionally, PEF announced 10 Driver posts with salaries of Rs. 57,500 per month.
In other news, several private schools in Punjab have come under scrutiny for ignoring government orders that prohibit outdoor activities due to escalating smog levels. Despite a province-wide ban, some institutions have continued arranging student outings to places such as Joyland, Jallo Park, Safari Park, and the Lahore Zoo.
