The Punjab government has announced that the 20th International Cholistan Desert Rally will take place from February 4 to February 8, 2026. The update came during a planning meeting chaired by Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen to review preparations for the annual motorsport event.
Officials from multiple departments joined the meeting through video link, including the Managing Director and General Manager of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr. Farhan Farooq, Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhon, district police officers, Additional Commissioner Coordination Nayar Mustafa, and 4×4 Club President Mahmood Majeed.
Commissioner Jabeen said the rally serves as an important platform to showcase Bahawalpur’s culture and heritage at the international level. She added that cultural festivals will be held across Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan alongside the racing events.
During the meeting, the commissioner directed authorities to finalize arrangements for international participants, complete the security plan, and organize cultural programs and sports activities in a coordinated manner.
She also instructed officials to ensure timely repair and rehabilitation of the rally track and nearby roads so that all preparations for the 2026 event are completed efficiently.
